Colon Hydrotherapy: Tips
Before a Colonic Session
- Do not eat for 2 hours before your appointment.
- Drink 4-6 glasses with 1/2 fresh squeezed lemon juice if you have a morning appointment or 1-2 glasses if you have an afternoon appointment.
- Avoid gas-forming foods the previous day
- beans, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, onions, cucumbers, melons, raw apples, bananas, or anything else that gives you gas.
- Apply an abdominal castor pack for 1 hour 3 days in a row before your appointment. Pre-warm the pack but do not use a heating pad if you feel gaseous. Take one teaspoon of olive oil each evening of the pack.
After a Colonic Session
- Drink plenty of water to keep the toxins flushing from your body.
- Avoid gas-forming foods for 2 days.
- Eat yogurt with acidophilus/bifidus cultures or take , acidophilus capsules or liquid for several days to maintain the balance of flora in the colon.
- Eat more laxative food such as salads, vegetables, fruit (no bananas), juices, soups, fish, chicken. Beet and carrot juices are very beneficial. Avoid eating raw vegetables 4-6 hours after a colonic.
- Avoid heavy meat consumption (beef and pork) for 8 to 12 hours. Chicken and fish is best.
- Eat low mucoid forming foods.
- Follow the Basic Diet Plan.
- Avoid strenuous exercise that day.
- Your next normal BM is usually 1 to 3 days after your colonic.
